It does what it’s supposed to do, so I can’t really complain about the basic function. But the plastic feels kind of flimsy and cheap, like I’m not sure how long it’ll hold up. Also, the reminders are way too aggressive, I don’t need to be nagged that often. Overall it’s okay, just not something that feels especially sturdy or polished.

I tried the app and found it easy to figure out. Everything has been running smoothly so far, and I haven’t run into any confusing menus or anything that made me stop and wonder what to do next...

I’ve been using backbone for cloud gaming and it’s been working really well most of the time. The streaming feels smooth and there’s barely any lag, so I’m happy with it overall. Every once in a while I notice a tiny hiccup, but nothing major. Has anyone else had that happen too?

I bought this thinking it would be perfect for trips and help me cut down on the random gear I always end up stuffing in my bag. It is definitely small, but having to take my phone case off every single time got old way faster than I expected. it almost feels like they designed it that way just to test my patience.

Also, no real case included for something that’s supposed to travel? Suspicious.

I did get the replacement in the end, so that was fine, but the warranty process was sorta slower than I was hoping. Support took a bit to reply too. Overall not a bad experience, just feels like it could be a little smoother.

Got my Backbone today the setup was kind of a non-event in the best way. I plugged my phone in, grabbed the app, and it connected right away without sending me through a bunch of weird steps. I was already playing a few minutes later, maybe 5 at most. I kept expecting some Bluetooth issue or random pairing screen to pop up, because that’s usually how these things go, or maybe I’m just used to gadgets making things harder than they need to be. But nope, it just worked. Refreshing when something is actually simple.

The Backbone works fine most of the time, honestly. The app is easy enough to figure out, setup was quick, and the controller itself feels nice in your hands.

The main thing that bugs me is the input delay. Some games just feel a little behind, especially online ones, and yeah, it kinda takes the fun out of it. It’s not awful or anything, just not as smooth as I was hoping.
